Hi,

Welcome to my page :)

I am a photojournalist based in Chicago, IL. Originally from a beautiful Central American country, Guatemala; at the early age of fourteen, my family and I moved to the United States in search for the American dream. After my traveling involvement with missionary groups in Dominican Republic and Haiti, I discovered my passion for documenting life, color, nature and most importantly cultures with the help of a 35mm camera. A vision for contributing to society, photography and adventure was born. This led me to spend hours of learning the process and craft of black and white photography during High School, consequently making a decision to move West and continue my education to acquire a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Journalism/Photojournalism from Brooks Institute of Photography. During my time spent at Brooks, I was part of Vegas 7, the first advanced mini documentary course in Las Vegas Off the Strip, led by legendary photojournalist, PF Bentley. In August of 2005, my educational adventure at Brooks came to an end.

For the past three years since my graduation, I've worked as a second photographer at several weddings in Chicagoland for a few photographers and Essence Photo & Video- a professional wedding photography studio based in Schaumburg, IL. Recently I have worked as a freelance portraiture, event and wedding photographer. I am also a part-time tutor and representative of Brain Hurricane, LLC a Supplemental Educational Service tutoring provider for CPS.

During my spare time I enjoy to explore abandoned places and photograph their architectural decaying facades. I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, the outdoors and taking roadtrip adventures. I am also an avid self-portraiture artist, trying to follow the steps of Cindy Sherman. Please feel free to contact me to discuss rates and availability for any of my photographic and/or assisting services.
